Why are there so many chip families?

Eduversal works at four boundaries at once: international Cambridge curriculum (CTS / CSLS), Indonesian law (PMD / PIGP / PKG / SKL / PERLAK), international evidence + accreditation (IASP / Ofsted / EEF-PD), and our own network-wide policy (ES). On top of those, modern AI literacy needed its own track (AICF) and we wanted to be able to show which research a competency is built on (Research chips). One chip family per source keeps each citation honest — you can always trace a competency, KPI or handbook task back to exactly what it was built from.

Why do some chips open a popover and others only show a tooltip?

Clickable chips (CTS, CSLS, PMD, PIGP, ES, AICF, SKL) point to a single named clause in a published document. We can show you the exact text. Hover-only chips (PKG, Research) point to a wider concept (a 14-competency framework, a 50-page research paper) — the tooltip gives the name, but quoting a single line out of context would mislead.

A chip says CTS 3.2 but the popover is empty. What happened?

The reference number is wrong, or the standard was renumbered. The popover loads from the canonical research archive — if the chip's number does not exist there, the popover renders empty. Report it via the in-page feedback button or to the framework author; it is a content bug, not a UI bug.

Can I add a new chip family?

Not directly. Each chip family ties to a verified, version-pinned source in docs/research/ (or, for free-text anchors like PERLAK + EEF-PD + Research, a brief in ANCHOR_BRIEFS) and a popover handler in shared-design/cambridge-crossref.js. Adding a new family is an architecture change — talk to a director first. In most cases your need is already covered by one of the thirteen, or by adding a new entry inside an existing family (a new ES madde, a new AICF block, a new pedagogy citation, a new ANCHOR_BRIEFS entry).

I am authoring a new competency / KPI / handbook task. Which chips should I attach?

As many as honestly apply, no more. The rule of thumb: every chip is a claim that "this piece of work satisfies that source." Do not stretch. A teacher KPI for a Year 8 teacher in Indonesia might honestly carry CTS + PKG + SKL + ES. A school-level governance KPI might carry CSLS + IASP + Ofsted + ES. A school-level safeguarding KPI might carry IASP + Ofsted + PERLAK + ES. A walkthrough or PLC KPI might carry CTS + EEF-PD + ES. A year-1 induction task might carry PIGP + ES. Where does the popover text come from?

From docs/research/ in the monorepo — verbatim Cambridge, Permendiknas, Eduversal Academic Standards and AICF text, version-pinned with SHA-256 checksums. The build script mirrors these into dist/references-data/, and cambridge-crossref.js fetches them at runtime to fill each popover. Single source of truth — popover text never drifts from the canonical document.
