This is a 365-day guide for new HQ Subject Specialists in their first year. The year is split into 4 windowsA window is a phase of year-1 induction. Network (days 1-30) — listen and learn the schools. Apprenticeship (31-120) — shadow your mentor. Solo (121-240) — lead your own visits. Strategic (241-365) — set your direction for year 2. (Network → Apprenticeship → Solo → Strategic), and you get a mentor. You will also do a walkthrough cycleA walkthrough is a short school visit you do with your mentor. The first year has 10 walkthroughs. The cycle moves from shadow → co-led → solo, so by the last one you are leading on your own. — 10 short school visits with your mentor. If you are not a new hire, you will see "You don't have an active induction" below — that is correct.
